Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens) is an aromatic tree from the Ecuadorian dry forests related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. It is still being used, mostly in South America, by Shamans to heal physical ailments and spiritual blockages; for this reason the Spanish settlers called the tree “Palo Santo”, or “Holy Wood” in English. This mystical wood is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon. Aya only sources branches that have naturally fallen, and supports several conservation projects across Ecuador.
